Ronjon Sodhi wins gold in shooting World Cup

 New Delhi: Ronjon Sodhi fired a brilliant round to equal the world record and win gold medal in the double trap at the shooting World Cup in Belgrade.Sodhi, who scored 147+47, is the first Indian shooter to win a gold medal in the double trap event at the World Cup.He equalled the world Record of 194/200 established by D.I. Spigno of Italy in the 1999 World Championship in Shotgun events.

Sodhi also equalled the world record for the qualification round with a score of 147/150 (49 48 50). Australia’s Diamond Michael established this record during the 1998 World Champinship at Barcelona.

India’s Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore was ranked 24th in the qualification round with a score of 134/150.
